Taking in Edinburgh

Today we started early with breakfast at our Cherry Trees B&B.

And then it was off to downtown

catching one of the schools running also getting an early start to the day.

At one end of downtown, Calton hill tugged at our curiosity

Sue, marching to the top of Calton Hill with Lord Nelson's monument in the background

Of course, we had to go to the top for the view

and was it windy!

King Arthur's Seat is the remains of an old volcano

Holyrood Palace at the end of the Royal Mile.

Me trying to get the perfect shot of the Edinburgh castle in the background and the memorial of  Dugald Stewart a Scottish philisopher.

Going for a fine lunch at Café Marlyne's

And indeed it was a fine lunch

Whoa, Texas is much closer than we thought!

Let's go to the Edinburgh Castle quick to get back into Scotland

Protecting your castle is serious business...

Ending the day with a shot of Scotland's finest Speyside Scotch.
